Pastor Tim

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus!  My name is Tim Stewart.  As of July 1, 2019, I was appointed as the pastor for Calvary United Methodist.  I have been a local-licensed pastor in the United Methodist church for the past 12 years.  I love Jesus!  He is the Lord of my life.  My role as the pastor is to shine the light and love of Jesus in all that I do here at Calvary (and beyond).  Having been blessed to be born into a Christian family who was active in a United Methodist church in my hometown of Williamsport, PA., I came to accept Jesus as my Savior as a teenager.  While I was very involved in the church for a few years after my conversion I back-slid for many years while attending college (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing from Kutztown University) and for quite some time into my thirties.  The Lord began working on my heart after I realized that something very dear and important to me was missing in my life.  My success in the secular-business world did not provide me with the fulfillment that I longed for.  I began attending church again.  Slowly but surely God, through Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit began to get me back on track.  His track!  I became more and more involved in the church as a liturgist, usher, lay leader and eventually a Christ-Servant minister.  I led Sunday school classes as well as Bible-study groups.  In my late forties I began to receive a call from the Lord to become a pastor.  Initially I was surprised and concerned as I did not feel worthy.  I eventually talked to my pastor about my promptings.  This led to me beginning the process to become a local-licensed pastor in the United Methodist church.  I have been in this role for the past 12 years serving churches in Pottstown and Wissinoming (Northeast Philadelphia).  I love teaching and preaching the Word of God.  I can think of nothing more satisfying in life than to journey with people who either know the Lord or are seeking to understand what Christianity is all about.  My wife Melanie and I live in Lansdale, PA along with our Cairn Terrier, Rosse.
