Sunday service at Calvary:
Calvary’s 10:30 am service is a blended service led by the pastor, with music from our director Nathaniel. Relevant sermons, lovely hymns and reflective prayer are all a part of this service which is held in the main sanctuary.
We offer Christian education with a 9:15 AM bible talk for adults in the multipurpose room. Learn more about our small group study here: Small Group Study
A children’s bible study program, we call Children’s Church, is offered during the 10:30 service. Children leave with the teachers following a children’s message. Learn more about Children’s Church here: Children’s Church
Dress is casual but there is a range from suits and ties to jeans. You are welcome just as you are.
Arriving
The entrance to the parking lot is on Park avenue. Special needs and visitor parking are available in this lot which is adjacent to the education building entrance.
The service is in the main sanctuary. Enter through the education building door. turn left at the first doorway and go up the stairs or walk a short way up Park avenue to the side entrance to the church. There is a lift available at the parking lot for those who cannot manage stairs. Contact the church so someone will be available to assist you.
Before the service begins
Once you are settled into your seat an usher will bring you a visitors packet and greet you. The packet, which is for you to take home, contains information about our church and a recent newsletter .
Bring the Children
The is a special message for the children every Sunday during the second service and the children can attend Calvary’s Children’s church after the message (Learn more: Children’s Church). Activity packets are available for the children to use during both services ask any usher. There are also soft toys in the multipurpose room and main sanctuary. They are for the comfort and enjoyment of anyone. If your child becomes attached to one of them please feel free to take it home.
What if my child is unsettled or crying and I need to leave?
You can still hear the service using a hearing assistive device while in the nursery. Ask any usher to provide you with the device and show you the way. It is peaceful, quiet and close to the main sanctuary.
Ushers
They are available in the main sanctuary to assist you. Need a bulletin, a hearing assistive device, a large print hymnal or bible, help finding your way or using the lift? Ask any usher.
After the service
Several people may come up to greet you ( we’re a very friendly church).
The pastor joins in the fellowship after the first service. This is a good time to get acquainted and learn more about Calvary.
Following the service the pastor greets everyone at the side door of the main sanctuary. Stop by there to meet the pastor.
On the first Sunday of the month there is fellowship in the parlor following the second service. Light refreshments are served and everyone lingers for a while. Another opportunity to meet the pastor, some of the members and learn more about Calvary.
