A Community Safety forum sponsored by Ambler Area Coalition for Peace will be held at Calvary on May 26 from 7pm to 9pm.

A panel discussion will take place examining the reasons for increased violence in our communities, the prevalent attitudes towards violence and current ideas and methods aimed at reducing it. The panel will include local legislators, safety experts and representatives from both secular and religious violence prevention organizations and groups.

This is an opportunity to come together as a community and learn the sobering statistics and facts about violence in our community and how we can prevent and reduce it.

Such hot button topics as responsible and safe gun ownership and background checks will be discussed.

Perhaps most importantly, the safety of our children will also be discussed. Their safety is of the greatest concern for all of us. It is on them that we build our future and we all want them to grow up in an environment where they feel safe and are safe and secure.

These are important safety issue topics in our communities, homes and even our churches and which we as a community need to discuss and work toward resolving.
